loading problems
ellen:
I wonder if this is something with my computer or not, since I don't have any problem with other sites.
It takes a long time for the board page to load and if/when I sing in it takes 60 to 90 seconds.....
Is there anything I am doing wrong?
I have a Mac that is probably a 2004 - I know, it is a dinossour
Thanks

I don't have loading or logging in issues, ellen. Regarding logging, I stay logged in so that whenever I load the site from my laptop, regardless of where I am with the laptop, I am logged in. If I load the site using a different computer, I have to log in cuz that's computer resident.
Normally I would say the problem would likely be with your ISP or GJ's ISP, but you say you have no problems with other sites. Even though you have no problems with other sites, when you have had loading problems/sign in problems with GJ, have you immediately tried other sites for comparison? Is the slowness in loading constant or intermittent?
I've sent notification of your issue to John for his insight and input. Together will try to come up with an answer for you; don't know if we'll meet with resolution, but hopefully we'll at least get a reason.
Thanks for letting us know.
John:
Ellen,
At the bottom of each page, there is a line which states "Page created in X seconds with X queries."
Could you try a couple of pages and give us the results?
Thanks!
ellen:
Just got a lesson on time
First, my experience is intermitent.
I tried once and got 4.338 sec and 13 queries
Next time I got 0.03 something and 18 queries.
Most of the time when visiting sites the experience is more like the 0.03.
It has taken longer than 4.338 here more than once.
I had not clocked the seconds, I guestimated them badly  so most likely what I thought was 60 to 90 was more like 3 to 10 sec.
Sorry for the trouble.
Branch:
No trouble, ellen! Never, ever trouble.
Keep an eye on the loads. If you're having trouble here, immediately try a couple more sites. Again, it could be your ISP or GJ's server at any given time. And, things will slow down a bit the more people are on -- FB is a prime example of that. I can always tell when kids are home from school or evening activities, FB slows down and you know that Zuckerberg has top notch servers, yet traffic affects them as well.
